Adding a Vehicle

Getting there
Click Vehicles in the navigation, then click the Add Vehicle button.
Option 1 — Add by VIN Recommended
Enter your 17-character VIN (Vehicle Identification Number) and Clutch will automatically decode and fill in your vehicle's year, make, model, and technical specs.
Adding a vehicle using the VIN automatically imports key information about your car, ensures the your vehicle specs are correct for service recommendations, and enables more accurate AI diagnostics.
Where to find your VIN
- Driver's side dashboard, visible through the windshield
- Inside the driver's side door jamb
- Your vehicle registration or insurance card
Option 2 — Enter details manually
If you don't have your VIN handy, you can fill in the details by hand.

Editing a vehicle
Go to Vehicles, click the vehicle, then click Edit. If you update the VIN and it doesn't match the current year/make/model on file, Clutch will warn you and offer to update the details automatically.
Deleting a vehicle
Deleting a vehicle permanently removes all associated services and parts. This action cannot be undone. We highly recommend that you export your vehicle details before deleting the vehicle. To delete, open the vehicle's detail page and click Delete.
Exporting vehicle details
You can export a PDF of your vehicle details. This might come in handy when it's time to sell. On the vehicle detail page, click the Export PDF button. This will bring up a PDF of your vehicle information, service history, and warrantied parts details.
